Established in 1997 we’re the UK’s leading provider of help and support for disabled people who want to buy their own home. In the intervening years we’ve helped hundreds of people turn hopes into homes, changing many lives along the way, forming strong working relationships with leading Housing Associations, Care Providers and Local Authorities and developing a unique shared ownership model that offers the buyer unrivalled protection and security. Following the economic downturn the type of mortgages that we support are currently only available in some parts of England and Wales. Whilst recent changes to the benefits system now also limit the appropriateness of the scheme to those on High or Middle Rate Care Disability Living Allowance (who can also make a long-term financial contribution to their own mortgage and count on their family for this kind of support too), home ownership remains a viable, life enhancing option.
We’ll provide the practical help and support that you (or someone you’re caring for) need to purchase a home of your own, arranging the mortgage funding through a unique process known as The MySafeHome Solution. From following up the initiation of the benefits that could cover some of the mortgage interest repayments through to checking that these are maintained, this process guarantees peace of mind for years to come. We’ll also work closely with buyers to check that they have the financial resources in place to cope with any changes to their situation. Please note that if you’re able to work this scheme won’t be suitable for you..
Don’t forget, if you’re looking for support to help you (or the person you care for) plan for the future (including guardianship, financial matters, care and personal well-being) please take a look at our brand new service, MySafeFuture, click here to visit MySafeFuture.
As a homeowner the benefits are clear. On top of long-term security and a place of your own, there’s the chance to lead your life, your way. We’ll come out to see you too, wherever you are in England and Wales, providing the reassurance of face to face contact and the personal touch that really makes a difference.

“Many years ago when James was growing up I thought what will happen to my son when I’m no longer able to look after him and this is just like a dream come true. You don’t believe it. I wake up most mornings and pinch myself because I don’t believe that this is real, but it is”.
- Tina Cooper, mother of James, a young man with severe mental and physical health needs…and a home of his own.
If you have subscribed to our newsletters you will have seen that our shared ownership scheme is now up and running again across parts of the UK.
It is with regret that we have to announce that our main lender, KRBS (now part of The One Savings Bank plc), has decided that it can no longer consider supporting the HOLD (Home Ownership for people with a Long-term Disability) scheme.
Whilst we continue to work tirelessly to launch our new shared ownership model we are still unable to announce when this might be available.
